Taking A 9300 On The Road...Power Options...

Thread Starter
What's up yall, been readin thru the forum and have gained a lot of perspective on my new purchase (pre-production, ordered yesterday.)

One question I have is about the battery. I opted for the smaller 6-cell battery so that I could go w/ the 6800, kinda sacrificed in that sense to maintain the budget. I'm going to be flyin and driving a lot in the next couple months and was wondering if anyone could offer any insight on a charger/power adapter for planes and cars that was safe w/ the power surges and levels, etc. I'm tryin not to fry my new machine yet still not have to be afraid of the 2.5 hour battery kickin out on me. At moderate user load, the 6-cell lasts that long, right?

I shoulda got the 9-cell. damnit.

If you are going to change your order, you should get the 9-cell as an additional battery.

Its $99 to upgrade to the 9 cell
or
you can add an additional 9 cell for $129

So for $30 more you get to keep the 6 cell and so you end up with two batteries.

That should help you out on the road.
I have not checked the price of the 9 cell separately. But I think it’s a lot more if you add it as an accessory later.

I dont remember the post but someone here said the 6 cell only lasted about an hour and a half. He called to complain and Dell sent him the 9 cell free.
I dont remember which thread that was under.
