Anyone use this bluetooth headset with your laptop?

I'm about to get a new laptop with built-in bluetooth and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these headphones?

I'd like to have a pair of headphones that connect via bluetooth to my computer without the need for an external dongle.

If those aren't any good anyone know of any better ones?

i dont know how bluetooth can sound that good, it only has a transfer rate of 70KB/s and that can BARELY stream a compressed mp3, or am i missing something here?

my bluetooth headset for my phone sounds like crap for anything other than voice conversation

actually bluetooth can go upto 1 megabits/second, which is more than enough for sound...

Well, that's kind of why I was hoping someone else had tried them before I plop down the money to buy a pair.

I'd love to have some wireless headphones for all those times when I'm on a plane, but if they sound like crap I'll just stick with my wired earbuds.

wireless headphones sound cool and all...but I don't think you're allowed to have bluetooth turned on while on an airplane...something just isn't sounding right there

Rofl! Like they would even know.

The whole 'electronics interfere with the aircraft instruments' is total BS anyway. Most modern electronic devices are regulated by the FCC and have strict standards covering interference. Even if they did interference with airplane instruments you would have to be so close for it to matter anyway.

Already the US congress is discussing working to relax the restrictions on electronic devices. Of course the biggest roadblock for cellphones on planes is not the interference but the social ramafications (people talking constantly throughout the flight, etc).

I'll grant you that bluetooth does have a higher likelyhood of interfering, due to it's range, but the power output is so minimal that it shouldn't cause a problem.

If airplane instruments were that sensitive then we would see a lot more incidents of problems due to external factors like radio waves, solar radiation, etc.

You've never been on a plane and had them come on mid-flight and remind you to turn off your cellphone? Usually there is no interference or its minimal enough that its not a problem, but from time to time for whatever reason (cloud cover, flight patern around cell towers or whatever) it does cause serious interference with the radios to the point that have a hard time understanding what is being said...I have actually talked to some pilots about it and they said that yeah, 90% of the time its a non issue, but occasionally it does cause some serious problems with communications and thats why you are supposed to turn them off....and with bluetooth being RF and with a range up to 100 feet, I definately see it having potential to cause serious problems

And actually the original issue with cellphones was that the CDR/billing applications of the cell service providers were not able to keep up with the rapid cell switching produced by the speed of the plane. That is no longer an issue.

umm, yea, until there arent any restrictions, i'd rather not take my chances on screwing up plane instruments while i'm 40,000 ft in the air because i want to make a phonecall.

1mbit/s is 128KB/s there is also overhead to factor in. 70KB/s is useable,

i have abluetooth accesspoint and the fastest i can download off my desktop is 70KB/s to my PDA, it could BARELY play mp3s @ 192kbit/s. i switch to wlan and it would download at 600KB/s

actually the range of a bluetooth adapter with another one is 350ft line of sight (~150m?) so it can definatly interefere with other signals anywhere in the plane

the overhead of the bluetooth packets is not 58KB/s....what youre saying is that a bluetooth packet is almost 50% overhead and 50% data, that makes no sense at all
