Surprised this was not mentioned yet, but many popular games do NOT support widescreen. (EA games are worst offenders, NFSU2, etc).

For those games, there is an internet site devoted to widescreen gaming, and they have patches, edits and fixes to allow widescreen it all it's glory.

yeah NFSU2 must be played in widescreen mode and with a wheeeeeeel
