This thing streaks. Playing CS or FarCry its rather noticeable, moving fast does cause streaking. Hopefullyill simply get used to it....anyone know if its possible too?

I have noticed this also, I believe it's related to the response time of the screen. It's not ultra smooth like my CRT.

this effect also happens on my 12ms samsung 710N lcd when i play counterstrike.

12ms is really low rt...are you saying the streaks are 'normal', then? I don't notice any streaking on my Toshiba 15.4 WUXA on the old XPS...

Maybe try turning on vsync, I'll check on this, it could just be "tearing" where the video card is running faster than the dispay can show it, it's not the same as ghosting on a slow responce lcd.

Ohhhh, ok...I thought Dell had that all sorted w/ the 16ms rt screens they supposedly use...

No, this isnt Vsync. I dont really mind, as now that i know what it actually is it doesnt bother me as much. Counterstrike always gave me a headache...now that i know why i dont get the headache (if that makes sense). Anyway, simply pointing it out. Games are still playable, its just not as nice as a CRT by any means. PLayed Starcraft and it even did it when i scrolled. O well, the screen is beautiful other then that...and the rather large amount of light leakage i have. I can live with that though. Im an easy guy to please i guess

Call Dell and ask for a Samsung replacement. Apparently they are sending a tech out with a Samsung screen for Luology so you might as well do the same. I wouldn't put up with excessive light emission from the bottom of my lcd.

yes i think u are spot on.

its definitely not to do with response time since, as i said, it occurs on my 12ms lcd.

Did you ever figure out exactly which LCD panel yours had? I have the WXGA+ LG panel in mine and haven't noticed any streaking...haven't tried those two games though either....

is this the same thing as ghosting?

Yes, it is exactly the same thing as ghosting. Its not horrible, but moving fast...blurs.

No, i havent found which monitor i have. I d/l Powerstrip but for serial it gave me a N/A.

That's ridiculous...there should be 0 ghosting with these screens...the XPS1 WUXGA I was shipped over a YEAR ago has NO ghosting...why would Dell take a step backwards in regard to the screens they use?

Nevermind, Vsync fixed that problem i originally put here. Not the one in the first part of the thread though.
