Just remove the apple section form this site

I think the advantages of having an Apple forum far outweigh the disadvantages of not having one. It is unfortunate that a few posters always have something negative or irrelevant to say about Apple or Mac OS, but the forum shouldn't be removed because of a few jerks. Personally, the only time I have ever used Apple computers were at my high school and they worked very well. This forum should stay, it is very informative, especially for people like me, who have become so inundated with Wintel that we sometimes forget there are other alternative platforms out there.

Keep the Mac forum!
bob,

I know what you mean...its tough with all of the trolls we have around here lately. They're just jealous or don't fully understand the allure of the Mac and hence must try to tear it down a notch to make themselves feel better. The essense of a troll.

Keep the faith! You've got a moderator in here now that will take care of the idiot-factor and keep things flowing

Always feel free to report a post by clicking on the "Report" button on the left under the person's avatar/name. All admins and mods are emailed that report and will take measures to clean things up if needs be.

Notebookforums will continue to be the best place on the net for Notebook discussion...regardless of what people try to take us down!

in layman terms.

you like the mac forums because you hate macs and want to keep mac users off the site or at least put them into a little corner.

ABF - This sort of thing is inappropriate, you were already warned in another thread. This one comes with a private message. I suggest you heed them. I am sure you have a great deal to contribute to the site, please keep things constructive.

hooligan..i believe this was a constructive message. in deed the topic on this forums is, keep the apple section, or get rid of it. and surely i believe i answered it by recommending to keep this section. then i gave my very logical reason. "Notebook General" shall be the forum for no-name/gamer brands (ibuypower, mwave, hypersonic) and since Apple is not a no-name brand, it shall have its own section just like Dell. That way the threads can be organized more logicaly and shall make the site easier to navigate for noobs.

And bobx...please stop assuming things from my posts. I do have no hidden meanings in what i say.

i suggest a real mac forum site, such as http://forums.macnn.com/

It couldn't hurt to have the forums.... why remove it? Sure there are some great ones out there, I frequent one myself every day (I don't like linking to other site, so I won't). But there are also people here that just plain like notebookforums.com. I mean, who doesn't? And there are some very helpful mac users here.

it should be remove and replaced with a link to macnn forums.
how about we just remove you from the forums? even though there's not much content i like to read what other view on mac are.

Dude, there are a bunch of different Mac forums. You don't need to come here to shill for a particular one. Those who know of them frequent them. At least with the board on this site, it shows the different alternatives and allows a Mac curious person to venture here without having to search a massive Mac-centric board and be overwhelmed. Plus, most people here, if they have a Mac, they also have a PC. Better empathy possibilities.

I couldn't've put it better myself, Frank.

People here most likely have PCs too, so they're better able to offer advice on switching.

As much as I love my Mac, and even though I don't think I'll buy another Windows machine again, I'm not so biased that I won't steer someone to a Windows machine if it won't suit them better...though I'm damn well gonna try to get them to get a Mac first. ha!

bobx2001,
the apple sections here are new. as such it will take time to build a community of readers to make it a worthwhile place to visit for mac users. i too frequent other mac forums, some of which don't allow the the cross-platform advice that mac-only forums seem to shy away from. much like kakaze, i'm totally up for suggesting a windows machines to someone who needs it. along w/ antivirus software, a reliable firewall, and a workable media editing solution to be paid for on top of it all.

And I suppose this is not a real Mac forum, somehow this forum is not part of reality. Honestly, bobx2001, no one is forcing you to be here, no one is forcing you to post here, and no one is forcing you to read anything on this forum, which I find to be enlightening and informative.

I have always been a Widows user, but I have fooled around with a few powerbooks and the Mac OS, and I have thoroughly enjoyed both platforms. This forum is the shiznit and the powerbooks are teh hawtness.
