Adam posted a 5680 review just recently in the reviews and benchmarks section of the forums. GO NOW!

I already read it about 5 times. Great review by the way. A couple things i didn't know about that made me happy.

1) New cooling fan layout, looks like it'll be a little easier to put on your lap since all the fans are for the most part in the middle.

2) Primary battery went from 4000 mah to 4400mah, every little bit helps!

yea! Do you know how many RAM slots the 5680 has? 2? or 4?
2, each capiable of holding 1,024 MB SODIMM's for a max of 2 GB of RAM. But the 1Gb modules are EXPENSIVE.

I'm glad to see the new battery has 10% more mah. That should add an additional 15 minutes or so. I'm also glad to see it holds it's own against the 8890 (makes sense it would) and even beat it (barely) in several instances. The UXGA screen looks great. I'm anxious to see more benchies. Hopefully mine will come soon and I can run some for myself.

Thanks for the review Adam!

Um.... 1 hour and 5 minutes with DVD playback is not very good at all. Even the 8890 got better than that. lol.

Uhm.... 1 hour and 42 Minutes (8890) vs. 1 hour and 5 minutes (5680). You do the math.

That's where the beauty of the dual battery setup shines. 8890 can't compete with that

Sounds about right to me. The 8890 has a 6600mah battery and the 5680 has a 4400mah battery.

4400/6600*102min = 68min which is pretty close to 65min. The math works for me.

Plus I ordered the 2nd battery which is 3400mah (I believe) so mine will be:

7800/6600*102min = 120min which will be plenty long enough for most movies

The 5680 beat the 8890 in almost every test!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!
Damn, i better start saving up for that $100 second battery..... we can buy that later, right??
yeah, you can buy them afterwards probably from a couple places, but the only place i know for sure is pctorque.

Dow do you figure - they looked pretty close to me. if anything the 8890 was slightly faster and gave slightly better FPS. Thats to be expected though with the RAID enabled.

The 5680 beat the 8890 in every test but the first one..... didn't it??

For the UT2K3 the ones where the 8890 beat the 5680 was because of the use of powerstrip, which i belive overclocked the GPU. Other wise there was i belive 1 tie, 2 where the 5680 beat the 8890, and one where the 8890 beat the 5680 by one point.

I cant see why either would be different, since it is the same equipment in different cases...

when looking at the picture under the keyboard i do not see the mini-pci slot for wireless. i was told that i could order a mini-pci wireless g card and install it in a 5680. maybe i'm just not looking in the right spot or don't recognize the obvious.
