Acer TravelMate 8100 Memory benchmark

I have 8103 with single 512MB memory chip and the memory benchmark from Sandra is around 2900 MB/s. Apparently it isn't using dual channel. When I checked post http://notebookforums.com/showthread...039#post673039, the dual channels have almost the same performance. Can anyone who has 8104 post memory benchmark please? I just wonder if the dual channel really works.

Getting same about 2990 MB/s on TM8104 with 2x512MB modules.

Due to the latency of DDRII, Dual Channel DDRII "at best" is 5% speed above single channel DDR. Of Course at best meaning crapy DDRII brand vs the best DDRII brand out there.

Interesting. Thank you for the information. Then DDR2 does look like crap. The dual channel ddr4200 memory on my desktop can reach 5900MB/s.

yeh i am suprised the thiis notebook the 8104 memory scores are so slow,, unless sisoft is not configured yet to read ddrII properly but my new note book my other one compaq, with amd 64 it's memory scores are better then the acer

Hi, you wil require two memory modules of the same to get dual memory...
