nope. other than the regular stuff i got, 1 gig ram, wireless, 80 gig drive, dvd-rw and bluetooth.

id rather wait a few weeks and get a good screen. i dont mind the glossy. but the ghosting, ugh. ive seen it happen and it aint purty. there is no way u can play games with that issue. i hope the rep. didnt automatically 'expedite' my order instead of waiting for better screens. because i know dell reps check around for issues on web sites, well they should anyway. and even on some review sites like cnet, the 9200/9300 screen issues have already been discussed.

Well after no moves since last Friday, this morning I moved to "kitting", which is now checked, then "Build", which is also now checked, currently in testing. This for a US order placed on 3/15. I hope I'm not getting the SKU purge! LOL

But I also live in Austin so that explains some of that.

Yay! Mine moved to testing too after being just "in production" since last Friday. Hope it comes soon! I ordered on 3/13, got the 2.13, the 7200 RPM drive, and the shields.

btw I just read in the dell forums that the 6 usb ports are unpowered? Is this true?
I really doubt that this is true. At least I really hope not. Has anyone else heard of this?

'Unpowered' just means 'normal'...it doesn't mean that juice can't be fed to a connected device...

THere are 'powered' USB ports (there's one on the XPS1), but the plug looks completely different...it's a different spec...anyhow, 'unpowered' USB slots are the normal everyday USB slots you use to connect yer wireless mouse, cameras, & etc. I've actually never used a device that had a 'powered' USB connector...

About the only thing I've heard of that uses powered USB connectors are iPods. This allows you to charge the battery while you synch. Personally, I think it's kind of pointless since synching takes like two minutes.

Finally mine moved to testing too after being just "in production" / build since last thurs or friday. Yesterday it went from 'build' to kitting and then now in testing stage.

I initally ordered march 1, rep messed up and had to redo order on 8th. I got the 2ghz, 80gig , shields.

Interesting thought to keep in mind is Easter coming up. Depending on states vs. magic carpet land and hours/labor could be why many of us are testing or ready to be shipped now to meet the april 7,8, or 11 shipping dates. Good fri is march 25 then weekend 26 & 27. (Not sure if anyone is working those dates..) Assuming not that leaves 28-31, april 1 (then weekend april 2, 3) then the next week depending on order and tent. shipping date would be when it would be 'shipped' assuming dell is going off their shipping dates. Depending on the 1st week in april when you are to be receiving the xps, not counting weekends that leaves like 7-9 days to work on them (weekends and holidays excluded).

Just went into testing today.Seems funny that a few people here that ordered with the shields (as I did) all went into testing today
post #192 of 327
That is true... Hopefully for people like us, they rounded up all the parts already.
Maybe the people who have recent orders... like within the last week, will have the delay... and the people who ordered weeks ago can finish up and ship....

When did you order?
No shields here and into testing today. 2Ghz, 1G RAM, 1350 wireless, 60G 5400, already have 7200rpm waiting.

I placed my order on 2/25 which I think was the second day they made it available on the website. Not real sure.I am trying not to get too excited as I have seen others here have their status go backward. Also have seen 2 poor guys have their orders cancelled

I'm in "Boxing" now.......Woot!
I must've gotten real lucky after reading some of the long waitimes some of you have had. Either that or they just had a big shipment of parts come in...

I ordered mine on Saturday the 19th and today it shows in the boxing stage ( if you can believe the website and the phone recording)

It does still show estimated shipdate of April 14th but I can't imagine they will "box" it and then leave it sitting in a corner for 3 weeks ... but then again ...
