Order on whatever the first day you could order was...but credit card security red flag delayed my PreProduction status a day or two.

Well, I just checked the online order status, which yesterday said In Production but all the sub phases were grey (I've been checking my order status over the phone to get hte actual stages), and now both Kitting and Build are checked and Testing is highlighted.

Woot! looking good.

Time is nearing! It would rock on Dell's part to ship 2 weeks early! Mine says production but all greyed out for the sub categories.

I just called the automated order status line and it is in the BUILD stage! So I am guessing it'll ship within the next week or so? YES!

My XPS2 and PSP all in one week! I might have to go in the hospital after all this excitement!

Mine still in the build stage

According to both the phone and the website mine's in the (!) boxing stage.

I just went into the build stage on the 18th

Well the Dell site FINALLY updated with my order info -- sadly I don't get as much information as you guys in the States do.

The unit entered Production on the 18th (Friday). I don't yet have an estimated ship date.

(UPDATE: Here's what I see when I go to my order page)

(UPDATE #2: I'm sure others will point this out, but if I'm reading everything correctly, my machine is in the Build stage -- that is, if that picture by "In Production" changes to reflect the particular phase of production the machine is in).

My laptop just went to Boxing. I guess they start working in Malaysia at 7:00 am. It's 7:45am Monday there so I guess we will see a lot more XPS G2 's going to boxing today, after all they need to fill that 747. LeeU

I thought they floated them over on a frieghter? I guess it would make more sense to fly them over, but I somehow had this image in a my head of swarthy mustached dudes running around shouting on the deck of a flotilla as hundreds of XPS2 were tied down to survive the coming storm...

Mine has been in the build stage since at least friday, I can't remember when the checkmark appeared next to "Preproduction." I'm on vacation for this week--when I ordered on February 25th I figured there was a chance I would have it this week, the most convenient time to play with it and migrate from my old computer.

Not gonna happen this week, that's for sure. I don't trust anything Dell is saying. Until someone gets one and posts pictures of it for proof, I'm not expecting mine soon. I would suggest getting excited ONLY when you have a tracking number or a package at your door.

Is it worth spending an extra $300 for a 2.13ghz then a 2.0ghz?

Depends on how much $300 means to you. For a 3k laptop purchase that I'm going to keep for 3 years, at least, $300 is not a lot and to me it was worth it.

Other people say they will upgrade the processor later, so it's not worth it and still other just don't think they want to spend the extra money for the .13 difference.

doubt that. the printer that was free with xps2 has already arrived, but its `in production` icon on the order status (it had a separate order number from the laptop) never changed to reflect the different build stages.

I say we'll get them after the easter weekend.

Anyone know the Canadian phone number to check for order status? I'm curious what they have to say about where my laptop is sitting right now.
