This really sucks

I cancelled an order I made 3/1 and made a new one on 3/14 for a delivery date of 4/12. Granted, it's not 4/12 yet, but hearing everyone's system progressing swiftly makes me want to kick and scream.

What's the hold up? Is there only one person putting these systems together?

hope i can move up to the 'boxing' thread soon and start whining there.
meanwhile i was doing a google search on indian tech. support and came upon this site. it had me in splits. enjoy all. might help to pass the time.

The last 3 days it was in building to kitting, to testing now boxing. Verified all this w/a CSR as well. Confirmed no conflicting SKU's, backorder or anything.

Mine is now in boxing!!!!! Still have an estimated ship date of april 7th.

I was in testing for a day or so, then I went to boxing, then my order got cancelled.

Yes I remember reading your post. That really is bad.I had the same thing happen on the extra a/c adapter I ordered for the XPS 2.I had to re-order.This thing was on a 1 to 2 week lead time.Funny thing was the second order shipped the same day I ordered it .I really hope you have that kind of luck with your second order

My guess is that Dell is gonna try and get these out before the Easter weekend. The ones that were built a few days earlier are still in boxing waiting to build and box as many more as possible to send one big shipment before the weekend. Just a hunch.

Interesting bit of news for me: sometime in the past 6 hours my order made it to testing. When I check my status online, everything is current. Sounds like I'm headed straight for boxing, and then maybe an order cancelation? Or perhaps a shipment? Who knows. I'd like to think of this as progress, but I fear that parts are still unavailable, and this is all a hoax.

I did get a free Dell All in One 962 printer for waiting so long, and a priority on my order (riiighhttt). I'm a little more optimistic about my order.

Edit: And apparently I got overnight shipping too, since it says it ships on April 11th to be delivered on the 12th. Sweet. I guess I'm good at this Dell game.

I guess they got the shields in, or...well, something! Just went into testing this afternoon. I ordered Feb 26th btw.

I am guessing it will come in on the 4th of April.... just a guesstimate.

My online order page still says I'm in production (remember, this is dell.ca). I'm going to phone them up tomorrow with my case # and see what I can find out about my system (after all, they DID say it would probably ship Thursday or Friday).

If I have to wait much longer, I think I'm going to try and snag a deal somewhere.

I ordered 3/15 and mine is still in production. It looks like your XPS2 is moving quite a bit faster than mine. You just wonder why.

Ordered March 7th (US), mine went in to testing yesterday. I suspect as others do that whatever parts/etc they were waiting on have started to arrive.

I also suspect that some of us will have our XPS 2's by this time next week, and I hope I am one of them
