As of this morning my Gen2 was listed as "In Production" via web and in the "build" stage via phone. This sucked as the status wasnt changing from almost the day that I ordered - March 2.
My rep checked and could tell me the exact station the machine is at and its having its software installed/checked. He guessed it would ship the middle of next week. Official status online at 1:30pm today list it in "Testing"
All this from a phone call I placed this morning as a followup to an email I sent yesterday. He had all the information I wanted but hadnt replied yet. Because of my email wondering why others showed "shipped" but had ordered after I had, he had put a expedite on it. He DID say this might only save 24hrs (likely less).
As to the question of how others might receive earlier I asked about payment options having an effect. Since I used a Purchase Order (K-12) those that used a CC might have hit production 1-2 days earlier - at most.
Finally, he said that the home consumer market often (not always) gets more priority. Soooo.... I take that to mean if you are EPP, K-12, SB, or ??? you could take a backseat to plain old consumers.
Add together the different options folks purchased, their method of payment, their consumer catagory, whether they got a rush put on the order, or even part of the country and one might explain away what happened. I suppose it would also be easy to move from the front of the pack to the rear if say on the assembly line they find your LG screen is bad.
