Heh, here's my complaint email, filled out from the order status page links:
This order was placed on 03/08/2005, and was the second order I placed on this system. I cancelled the first, from 2/27, due to a sale price that came up.
Anyhow, I am very displeased with the wait time I am experiencing, almost to the point of canceling my order and buying an Sager 9860, which will ship immediately.
I can point you to several references where people that ordered identical equipment to me in late March have already seen their xps2's move to shipping, while mine sits. This is counter my view of your order fulfillment policy of first-in-first-out. I am most upset because this machine is to replace a machine needing to be returned on a lease, and having it delayed as it is costs me $150+ a month, and the timing of it will cause me to incur provbably $300 in monthly rent.
Here are some of the conversation I mentioned:
"Ordered My XPS GEN2 3/18/05 and its due at my door tuesday 3/29/05.
I ordered the base model and it told me expected delivery 4/13/05 .
Checked order status today and it says in transit expected delivery 3/29/05.
I cant believe its coming so soon."
So, my question to you: What are you willing to do to make this right?
The handling of this order for a costly purchase is not as I think Dell is reputed. As I mention above, the costs I will incur to keep this order are becoming problematic, and without any remedy, I suspect I will have to look to another manufacturer. I should note, I own three Dell poweredge servers, and have been a loyal Dell customer. I have over 30 active clients for which I do software development and enterprise application architecture consulting, and up to this point, I have recommended the poweredge line of servers.
