Hello folks! I've ordered a DELL XPS2 gaming laptop and it won't be arriving until mid April. I'm wondering if anyone has received one yet, and when you do, if you would post any information you optain about:

1. Your First Impression (when you open the box and start her up)
2. Any issues with the initial product, like dead pixels etc.
3. Installing software and games... any issues?
4. The SPEED: how is it performing? Did it meet your expectations?
5. I am especially interested in your trials and experience with
the MEDIA CENTER operating system, which I ordered and will
be hooking up a SATELLITE receiver to the "tuner".

Umm... they haven't been shipped yet...
but you might want to check out the 9300 reviews and pictures, its almost the same thing.(It depends on who you ask)

Well The estimated April-12-05, Me....April-8-05, is off becuse most people are now going into testing stage tonight and should get htere pretty soon , for me i am in buidling as of like 2 hours ago , havent checked again, but yes if and when we do get your long awaited XPS2's there will be many post you can be sure of that.

And welcome to the forums.

I'm very curious how the "SCREEN" turns out for everyone.. seeing how there have been some issues reported on prior models. I'm also interested in who gets theirs first! SMILE! HAVE FUN!

Hey! Thanks for the welcome to the forums. I'm getting excited about being in the BUILD stage. I'm going to call now to see if I've progressed into the testing phase like some others, but I ordered in the beginning of March so I'm not expecting much. Mine is due to ship April 8th, with and estimated delivery time of April 15th... just in time to sooth my tax woes! heh heh.

Not DB.. BD. Today is my BD... 45 years new!

Who's DB anyway? I'm gathering it's someone who is very pro Alienware? I actually considered an 7700 with dual 60gb HD's at 7200... but... after reading a bunch of forums about customer unsatisfaction... I just don't have time to deal with those types of woes in my business life right now. I had personally called Alienware and got a rude individual when I was asking something about having Windows Media Edition 2005... but their reply was so lame that I felt the person providing me the technical info was some burger flipping small fry (smile). Anyway, the best to everyone who gets whatever computer they want. I'm salvating about my DELL XPS2 coming...as I had the original XPS and it took everything I threw at it (except my wife... she's heavier now).

So.. anyway... I'm going to call Dell and see if my status has been changed or upgraded from BUILD.

Sounds like me... looks like me... smells like me... but well... it's not. I grabbed this Avitar when reading through those forums when I was thinking about getting a Alienware 7700.

I see that some people have filled out the survey.. has anyone here received their XPS2 yet?

If so... see the first message in this forum thread and .. if you would.. please answer the questions. Thanks!

If you have received your unit, you're lucky. We're all chomping at the bit... and mine in particular is still in the BUILD stage! Due April 8th shipping.

Dell hasn't started shipping out the XPS2 yet. First wave is due late march. Next week perhaps?
