Sony Warranty & Support

Thread Starter
Except for an IBM 286 I purchased about 20 yrs. ago I've bought computers from Gateway and Dell via mail order.

I'm considering the Sony S360 notebook and the only local store that stocks them is Best Buy (oxymoron?). When I asked about support and warranty extension from several salespersons I got the message that I purchase them thru Best Buy as they have better support. Can't get an informed answer regarding warranty and support from Sony.

If I buy the Sony what may be the best options for extending the warranty and is Sony support the way to go for problems.

Thanks,

Rob

The advantage to Best Buy is that they're local. However, Sony can also do onsite service. Compare the prices and decide which one you want to go for.

Does anyone know...
If I decide to buy the S360 on Amazon, is there a way to extend the warranty? (other than buying it with AmEx card)

Sure, you just call Sony and buy the warranty you want. They don't care where you bought it as long as you bought it.

Your AMEX card wont do you much good....only $1000 per instance.
