You are going to make me a set of drivers every other day.
I got 6040 with the 44's @ 546 core so I will try these at some point tommorrow.

Hey, what will that baby do at high performance without auto overclock? Which of the drivers works best? Maybe we can make a chart up with an XPS2 system and different drivers--just got to find software like Adam's, anybody know how he does it?

5136 is all I can get

Jed591...I guess I can be part of the club although I don't know why my score is in the bottom end of the XPS2 spectrum:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the score up other than reinstalling the OS? And does anyone know why it says Generic VGA for Graphics Chipset?

Can someone help me to install the new drivers i keep on hearing about on this website. i've been there and it usualy says they drivers dont work for this laptop or soemthing liek that.
Jeez...somebody needs to sticky the bloody tutorial i wrote about this...

1. go to laptopvideo2go.com
2. download the driver you want (e.g. 76.50) and extract it on your desktop. This will create a folder called '7650'.
3. download the .inf file by clicking on the link titled '30.70' under the 'Modded Inf' column and then drag it into the '7650' folder on your desktop. Answer 'YES' to overwrite the Desktop .INF when it asks if you want to do this.
4. Open the '7650' folder and double-click on 'Setup.exe'
5. Answer 'Continue Anyway' if windows warns you that the drivers suck balls...

6. Grab a beer and fart happily as you road test the new drivers using 3dMark05.

I was at work today, and figured i would try to overclock my XPS2 yet again. i really wasnt expecting it to save the clock speeds, but some how it did.... i was getting 5100 over and aover again, and now all of a sudden i got close to 5400...

it saved the core at 493, and the mem stayed at 1.60.

if you look at the nvidia screen, you can see that the core clock saved under where the "m" and "a" meet in the word "preformace"... if you look at it when its at 450 (default) its under the "f" and "o". so i tried to go over 493... i tried 500... it wouldnt save. not only would it not save, but it wouldnt save at 493 anymore.. it was some freak overclocking tease...lol

oh yea, i tired auto OC and my computer locked up EVERY time in 3d05.. the 1st test, when the big guy comes out with the mechine gun... locked up there EVERY time.... had to power off...

Err, timebomb I notice you're using pixel and vertex shader versions 2a when you run your tests rather than the default of 3, why?

No doubt it gives slightly better results but since everyone else seems to be using the default version 3 shaders you're comparing apples with oranges surely?

Had somewhat similar thing happen in auto over clock where it stayed at 495 with quality setting.
The best way to show clock speeds apart from RivaTuner is to click on "Details..." under System on futuremark icon. This gives additional core/memory, and driver info under "Display Device 1/1".

Well here's my newest results. I installed the 76.41 drivers and I'm kinda confused why my performance isn't much higher.
Well folks. I decided to upgrade to the 76.44 drivers and got a much better score. It's 5345.

I'm getting 5196 on 3DMark05 default settings with forceware v7650.

After tweaking the driver for high performance I'm getting a 5302 3Dmark05 score - Man the XPS2 is an awesome laptop
