The Dell 8500 had the 15.4" "Ultra Sharp" WXGA, the Sager 4760 had the 17" WXGA, the Sager 4060 had the 15" SXGA+, the Sager 5680 had the 15" UXGA, the Sager 8890 had the 16" SXGA, and the Sager 8887 had the 16" UXGA.

Sorry, but some of the pics didn't come out and they were deleted. The Sager 4760 had a little better above and below viewing than the Dell, but they appeared close in angle viewing. All of the LCDs had really great angle viewing except the 4060 which was probably average for laptops. The 5680 of course had the best viewing angles. As you can tell the 8890 brightness needed turned down just a tad as did the 5680 and the 8887 could have been turned up a lil.

Don't complain if you feel we're doing apples to oranges, we had them here together and thought we'd compare. The 8500 was straight from Dell almost 100% as they ship it. The 5680 and 4760 were also as Sager ships them. We didn't tweak any of the LCDs for their best view as far as brightness or anything else just took some as is pics to share.

If anyone complains about the KB flexing in the Sager, you really need to use a Dell 8500 for awhile. I couldn't believe how badly it was flexing and tapping with normal use.

Wow great pics Adam. The 8887 screen appears to have the most vibrant color though, but it could just be the picture. Most people seem think the 8890 screen's better anyway, so that's gotta be saying something. Can't wait to see that 5680 in person!

*edit*
Adam feel free to delete/move my post if it got in the way of your nice layout...i won't take it personal

OH MY GOD!
I just made a mess in my pants .

Those Sagers are just so cool (hot?). If no other post convinces anyone about the superiority of Sager then nothing will.

Thank you Adam . The sale is made. I gotta get to my bank, convert some $A and order that 8890.

Here's a bunch of bananas for you all...

The 4760 and 5680 screens are pretty close in quality except the 5680 has a little better above and below angle viewing.

I still think, aside from some ghosting, that the UXGA 16.1" screen of the 8887 (what I have) is REALLY nice.

And I usually turn the gamma DOWN, it doesn't need to go UP! The other screens looked too bright to me... plus the wide-angle ones weren't that much wider (if at all) to the 16.1" UXGA which makes me feel good.

Hmmm, in that bottom picture there are 3 notebooks which are clearly brighter than the rest - the dell, the 5680 and one of the big 88XX models - is that your impression Adam??
