In case you didn't notice jc, I put two harddrives in the config. One being the system drive and the other the storage drive. The system drive is a WD Raptor, which has quite a speed advantage against all other drives.
If I may dare say, the system is pretty well balanced with no real weaknesses but obviously also not equipped with any non-plus-ultra graphics or processor. That's just not possible with the budget.
But the platform is damn solid to upgrade on. The AMD dual core processor, codename Toledo to hit stores in second half of 2005, can be run on a Socket 939 board.
If the 6600 should not suffice for your purposes later this year, just swap it with a 6800, which should be considerably cheaper then.
Product cycles are so fast, about 6 months, that shelling out huge amounts of money for a current top-of-the-line product is wasted money, if you won't even make extensive use of it. Sure, it's nice to have it, but if you don't have the money you have to get your priorities right.
