Laptop recommendation please

I'm looking to get a new laptop, which I will use for the next few months, and then eventually give to my parents to use. I'll use it for Word/Excel, watching movies, browing internet, email and downloading photo's off my digital camera.

With this in mind, what can you recommend ? I'm not what screen choice to go with ? I don't want to spend alot of money, lets say under £700 at the most.

Thanks

If gaming isn't a concern, and you want it to be kept on the cheap side, and watching DVD would be a big part of its use for you, then this would be perfect for your needs. Relatively inexpensive, has extra video features, even with a remote, and has 64 bit capabilities that will last your parents long into the future as a decent machine that will be able to run Windows LongHorn 64 when it comes out next year.

My choice would be

HP nx6110 PT601ET
Price: £459
Celeron-M 360
15" XGA
256 MB
40 GB 5400 rpm
WLAN b/g
Win XP Home
2.7 kg
Specs: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/q.../12135_ca.HTML
HP UK Link: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en...-12095478.html

It's a fine computer for that price. Upgrading to slightly better alternatives will cost so much £££.
