I was disappointed when the 4880 was released, but this looks much more promising... I'm in the market for a Sonoma laptop and so far I've been leaning toward the Asus Z71V, but this one may just change my mind. Anyone have any estimate in terms of the usual timeline from the introduction of a new Clevo model to the availability of the corresponding Sager model? Or does it vary too much to make a guess?

I hope the performance is equal to or better than the 4880 and I'll jump right on this thing (if I can get it for under $2k US).

With the 4880 Out right now , does it make sense that thet come out with this. Wouldn't kill the 4880 Sales. I say This because I'm under the impression they have pretty much the same specs except for
Better LCD (m38aw), Lesser GPU (M38AW) and no bluetooth ( m38aw ).

Or am I missing smth ?

Is A GeForce 6600 DDR2 better than X700 ddr ? Sorry for sounding Newbie. I thought I heard that Clevo went with the 660 exactly because It wasn't less of a powerhog. Maybe I am wrong supposing that because It draws less it isn't as powerful.

Best Regards

Since Clevo just released it at Cebit I'm gonna say official specs are about 2-3 weeks off and shipping as about 3-6 weeks off. Mind you this is just an estimate based on normal cebit to shipping times.

So much waiting. Any tips to help pass the time?

usually how long does these computers last on a single battery charge under normal usage like word processing and surfing?
Pentium M, 128mb video card, etc...
I would guess, if it is similar to the 3790, 2-3 hrs on a 6 cell and approaching 5 if it is offered in a 12 cell "tumor"

Link to a French preview

Here's a link I found doing a yahoo search. The site is in french, ran it through Yahoo's translator. The english is bad, but you can get the gist of it. The M38AW is the third article on the page.
