Clevo States It has Bluetooth , The Article Doesn't ? Anyway this is definitely more to my liking than the 4880. Wide Screen, Better LCD , Apparently a better battery life. I Hope the battery is designed like that of the 4880 ( quick release design as per Adam's Review ) .

What's up Guys! This notebook looks perfect. I'm not sure if i am posting my problem in the right place. Sorry if i am posting in the wrong place. I placed an order for Acer 8104 about a month ago and it has not arrived yet. I've always wanted a Sager. Back in December 2004 i was gonna order a 3790 until i heard that SOnoma was gonna kick in this year. That's why i waited. Waited quite for some time and i placed an order for acer 8104 instead. I waited for Acer 8104 for almost a month, and i realized this new sager just got posted on the forum. This has all the awesome specs. I called up to cancel my acer 8104 today because the wait was so long and this new laptop just showed up. Now, they said that they had an acer 8104 in stock and was gonna ship it today. So we came to the agreement that they would ship it to me. In the future, if i were to sell Acer 8104 to get the M38AW, would it be hard to get rid of the Acer?

Not at all! The Travelmate 8104 is one of the best computers on the market now. Unless you need the extra battery life of the Sager model, I'd say keep it!

Here's a thought. You read these forums and you see how everybody raves about the Sony screens, the Clevo flexibility, and the Dell onsite support, "Ultra" cards, etc. With all this technology available now, why doesn't one of these companies get their act together and build a laptop with:

1. A mobile processor (AMD or Intel)
2. Ultra Graphics card (256 mb)
3. XBrite Screen
4. DVD Burner
5. Hard Drive
6. 4 Memory slots
7. An optional hot swappable HardDrive/Optical/Floppy/Battery slot (use what you need at the moment)
8. A built in camera
9. Customizable case covers (paintable)
10. Built in TV tuner
11. 3 year in house warranty

Again, all this technology exists today. it's just finding it in one place.
I would think this machine could be sold in bulk for less than $3500 and would sell like crazy. Or, maybe I'm just crazy... What do you think?
OMG this is perfect.. well except for the fact it comes with a 6600 instead of 6800 ... but that should be enough ?

Any chance we will be surprised and this baby actually comes with a 6800?

How does the 6600 do in games in Doom3 and HL2?

djembe rob i heard good things about the asus z71v.
People said he is runnig incredibly cool.
Give us some review when you receive it.
heh, i ALMOST agree with you, since laptops are dated after 2-3 years 3500 is steep for the average user. If that number would be around 2500 it would be a steal, Shit i think they can do all you listed for about 2000-2200 if they were to mass produce them

looky what i found

Go 6600
300/375MHz (core)
300/350MHz(mem)
18Watts
8 pipelines

Go 6600U
450MHz (core)
350MHz (mem)
25.5Watts
8 pipelines

Go 6800
375MHz (core)
300MHz (mem)
26.7Watts
16 pipelines

omg look the 6600U and the 6800 go use almost the same amount of power now why can't we have the 6800 go

unless clevo decided to be a ass and give us the regular 6600 go
post #54 of 97
It isn't just about the power, there is a size difference too. Heat also plays a role.

You see, that's the problem with Acer 8104. I've seen a lot of people posting problems. I mean, no notebook is perfect when it is made and I know i will get the bang for the buck. But this is what worries me because this is the first time im buying a laptop and a problem free notebook.

I placed the order for Acer 8104 a month ago and about a week ago, i asked them when their next shipment will be b/c everything was backordered. The rep told me it would be April 6th, but that was not confirmed and there might be some more delays. So i told him, that's fine i'll wait. And i called today to cancel b/c i saw M38AW, suddenly they have the laptop. It does make me wonder, if they are on backorder, why would they suddenly have a laptop available for me? Is this laptop a refurbished one or someone returned it because it had problems? Are they allowed to sell laptops that someone else returned?
