Received mine at 3pm today!!

Yes ppl, i have finally received my i9300, ordered during the 33% discount

It has certainly lived up to my expectations. I ordered the wxga+ screen (5411) and i can say it is certainly top notch samsung quality and is most definitely comparable to my 710N lcd.

I've spent the last few hours removing Dell adware and installing stuff. Have yet to fiddle with the graphics card but so far this system is on par with my 3.2ghz desktop in terms of speed.

As already mentioned by others, the sound is actually really clear and makes u wonder if there are external speakers hidden beneath the laptop! I played The Last Samarai dvd and the speakers showed some distortion at max during the major fighting scenes. Not really a problem, but hey, its already surpassed my expectations for laptop sound

gtg,... more things to install and wat not..

This is well worth the wait... hope u guys receive urs soon.

oh.. and regarding the noise of the fan, it is audible but for someone who has sat beside quite a noisy desktop (despite antec sonata casing) the noise from the i9300 is whisper quiet! I can definitely do my thesis infront of this baby now

Got a phone call from this mobile number, the day before delivery. Almost hung up cuz of very bad reception. LUckily i could make out the words "Dell" and "tomorrow", "2 to 6".

So, seat yourself away from blackspots (eg. moving trams in the middle of CBD!) a day before expected delivery

pwanda, congrats dude. Glad to hear you got a good screen and youre happy with your new baby If you manage to get around to running any benchmarks like 3dmark2005, lets us know what score you get at default clock settings...

Hmm ... OK this is bizzare ... ordered my laptop Friday, got order confirmation Monday, rang the Dell rep today asking why the online tracking wasn't working, they couldn't tell me (but that it had moved past pre-production), about half an hour later online tracking worked (I guess they fixed something!) and my laptop had reached production (I'm guessing it had reached kitting and was sitting waiting for its graphics card).

I just checked and not only had it moved past that, every box, right through to "shipping" had been ticked! Here is a cut and paste of the status:

Order Date 23-Mar-2005
Build and Testing Date 23-Mar-2005
Estimated Delivery Date * 31-Mar-2005

I'm pretty sure this is my order - customer number, order number and delivery postcode are all right ... but that progress can't be right, according to the Dell rep they don't have my video card yet and even if they did, they can't have gone from start of kitting to shipped in this sorta time ... anyone else had weird things like this happen with their online tracking? I wonder if you can rely on the online tracker anymore ...

I copy and pasted both my order number and customer number off the order confirmation ... 5 times ... and as I said, the delivery postcode is right ... something weird is definately happening ... heh

I dare say it did make my heart jump a little when I first saw it ... hehe

Ah well ... if it's still like that tomorrow arvo I'll give them a ring ... it'd be close to midnight in Singapore, perhaps overnight maintainance has caused the tracker to go weird ... heh

its probably right.... they must have got their pending 6800s in many... lucky u to get everything in one day... that's DELL.. sometime, rarely, something is exceptional about them

thanks pwanda. Was wondering because i got a call yesterday on my mobile from a number i didn;t recognise but it dropped out on me. They never called back and didn;t leave a message.

Bit of a bugger about black spts i spend part of my day on a microscope that creates a bit of interfearance that wipes out my phone signal. Might have to leave my phone with someone else

BTW i never got the order confirmation email. I got the first one to say it was recieved but never got the 2nd email that lists your customer number etc. I had to ring Dell up to get that. They said they would send the email to me again but i never got it. Even after they went over my email address seceral times to make sure it was right
