I'm waiting on a technician to give me a call to schedule a time. Should be within the next few days. On my service call status, it shows the W9892 kit listed under the parts. I'll update when it comes in.

Mine was suppose to be 1-3 hours ago but I just got the dreaded phone call saying the part hadn’t came in yet and that I was rescheduled for tomorrow.

God Damnit Stop Stealing All The Screens So I Can Have My 9300 Built!!

Mine is scheduled for tomorrow late afternoon. I'm not keeping my fingers crossed, though. Wait, I AM keeping my fingers crossed, just not my eyes. Wait, if I cross my eyes, I can't see the screen sparkles. THIS COULD BE THE SOLUTION!

Seriously, there is some anecdotal evidence that people who wear glasses don't see the effect.

How did you check that UNInspector? I just got a Dispatch reference number, but not an order number.

Do you have your Dell online account setup? If you do, you can look it up under your "Order Status" once you have logged into your account.

If not, create one or jump online to Dell Tech Support Chat and give them your # and ask for a status.

17 INCH TRUE LIFE,WUXGA,GWVA,I9300

That's my description. Yours says SVC, i think that means refurbished. Might want to call them back if you care. Also check ur PM =)

Thanks UNInspector! I just checked it and it says:

W9892 SVC,LCD,17,WUXGA,GWVA,SMSNG

It probably just updated this afternoon, because it wasn't under my account this morning. It doesn't ship until March 28 though, it it is currently in production. Hopefully we all get it sooner.

Okay I have no idea what this kit is supposed to be. Is it a new screen that's better and doesn't have that sparkle effect? Damn, after I read the review about the 9300 screen, I'm not as excited about my xps2 anymore. More than once I went to the order page to cancel the order, but backed off for some reason. Seriously guys, if this is a new screen without the problems, tell me how to get it. And if its possible to have it doen through dell, please, please, please gimme the low down so i can make the change. Thanx.
most of the screens are fine, dont worry till you see yours. Dont cancel, you have 21 days to return no questions asked if you dont like it anyway.
UNInspector, I am just wondering what type of shipping did they give you because it doesn't say on mine.
so is it a less sparkley screen? and how much does it cost to get replaced?
So far all the screens are the same and the sparklie issue is debated in other threads. I have a screeny to the sparkly in the 9300 owners: talk about your wuxga post.
If your computer is still under warranty, which I am assuming everyone's is, it should be free. The price on the WUXGA display is $488.95!

hey joseyu, you have a PM also =)
