Needless to say..although there is no sparkle...
I'm unhappy with the screen. It has a Wash-Out look and
it has more light leakage than the LG. I'm at a cross road guys...
What should I do?

U.N. , you must of gotten a bad samsung screen , cause everyone how has received it with there 9300 and those that changed from LG to samsung like the samsung... so maybe you got a deffected one. You f'd it up for all of us who are waiting to get ours replaced, now we all worried that we gonna get a bad one too........damn it

oh by the way can you check if you got the K9975 or the K9922, thanks alot... i know jose got the K9922 and he loves it.....so you might of gotten the K9975 which still has received good reviews here so you might of gotten a defected samsung......hopefully thats the issue.......please update us on the info

I just switched off all the lights in my lab and had a black screen. There is a little light leaking from the bottom, but not more than 0.2 inches. There is just a thin line on the bottom....nothing else. I am keeping my K9922 Samsung. And I think my speculations were correct in saying that the W9892 screen is the replacement LCD service kit with the K9922 Samsung.

K9922 is the screen I received. The more I look at it...
Yeah it looks like the sent me a "bad" screen. What pisses me off is
that I spent time swapping the LCDs out....Now to repeat the steps again....then again...if a new LCD is sent.

jose thanks man......hopefully UN was a dud, he still hasnt said which model he got remember there are 2 samsungs that were shipped out with the 9300... damn UN lol.....you had to do it to us....

jose , so the colors are the same as the LG screen ?

another thing am trying to see the temp of my GPU , and i cant get it , can you give me a step by step where to find it
post #125 of 379
The colors from what I can remember of the LG are the same. I still go wow with the Samsung screen everytime I see a colorful picture, just like I did with the LG.

You can get the GPU temperature by doing the following:

1. Right click on your desktop and select "Properties"
2. Select the "Settings" tab
3. Click on "Advanced"
4. Select the "GeForce Go 6800" tab and it should pull out a side menu
5. Click on the "+" right next to "GeForce Go 6800 in the side menu to expand out the menu tree, if it hasn't done that itself already
6. Click on "Temperature Settings"

Gee, of course this Samsung is different from the ones for 9200. The ones on 9300s are glossy.
bbstls, I thought according to your terminology the ones on the i9300 have TrueCrap technology!
I remember when bbstls just had 5 or 6 posts. Boy, he sure has grown up since then.

One thing i would like to know: Is the LCD replacement kit always the Samsung?
Thda you can request that one, not 100% sure, but my rep said unless they are out of them at the local warehouse that's what i'd get.
If your replacement kit says W9892 then its a Samsung. We'll have to wait until when mbman gets his to confirm if they are all Samsungs because his doesn't have W9892 written on it, it just has a Dell Item number which can be anything.

How can you tell when you get your laptop if you have the K9975 or K9922? Does it say in the computer somewhere or do you have to phsically take the computer apart and look?

They are just different Dell part numbers. All the evidence so far suggests both numbers refer to the same Samsung LCD. Dell does this often. The 9200 only had 4 panels, but probably 8 Dell part numbers. Sometimes the number indicates that the panel is refurbished, for example. Sometimes it's just a mystery.

UN, not to accuse you of anything, but you might have installed the cable improperly, or set the cable to the inverter wrong or something like that (I haven't seen the steps to replace the LCD).

Maybe checking loose connections could solve your washed out look? Poor signal quality to the LCD would give it a washed out look.

Or you might not be looking at it with your good eye. Try that. You didn't accidentally leave a stocking stretched out over the LCD, either did you? Because that has been known to make the LCD not look as sharp.

my guess is everyone's eyes are probably fatigued and blood-shot after staring at screens looking for sparkles for over 2 weeks straight.
Nope...
I installed it correctly guys....I've double checked also. It's a defected LCD.
Plus,It wasn't my first time installing an LCD....I've worked on the 9200. Anyhow's I've contacted Dell. They are going about sending replacement #2.
