ok guys i owe dell a apoligy , i made a big mistake. last friday when i had a tech come in to replace my screeen, what i thought was a messed up screen was actually a good screen. let me explain. i have a background that i got in the internet, that i put on my laptop. now since i had the LG screen brightness and contrast down to 85, everything was looking better especially my background which is 90% black and like on the right side its like a alien's head poping out from the sides. well on friday before the tech installed the new samsung, i put the settings back to default. well when we put the samsung screen on my i notice sort of like white marks on my background like spots and scratches. right away i said this screen is messed up(tech agreed), take it back , replace my LG and have dell send me one so i can replace. well we did that. on that same friday i called dell and had them send me out another samsung screen. well it came today monday. i started off by removing the screen bezel. took the bottom part easily then i had the LG screen face down on the keyboard with a small towel in between. i called up dell and said can i use the same wires or use the new wire that came with the screen, they had different things on them so they recommended to use the one that came with the samsung instead of using the LG one. so i removed that cover where the power button is at, real nice and slow replaced the wire and put on the samsung screen. So i powered it on. small light leakage which is known for all screens.

for those who say they did not get no light leakage which i say is a lie. anyways. it doesnt bother me is small. then once i get to my background i said nooooo the same crap as before the same white marks on my background. i said to myself wait a minute am getting the same marks on the same spots as before. so i was like wait a minute , i changed the background to another black one and what do you know no white spots or scracth marks after all. the problem was that the background i had cant be shown real bright cause they messed it up whoeva made the background. i was like oh my god the screen i got on friday was perfect too after everything was installed , tech put back LG , and sent the samsung screen back to dell. so i wasted all of that for no making sure it wasnt the background. so it was my mistake i did not recieve a bad LCD the first time dell sent me a replacement.
Review on screen.
colors dont look the same as LG more of a lil faded out i guess one can adjust it
on default with gamma down to .89 screen looks a lil better
even with all default you can notice better whites.
in all the screen is alright, i can say i received 2 good samsung screens , instead of 1 bad and 1 good it was my mistake. so guys please dont mention me as receveing a bad samsung as i said before it was my mistake the background i had made the screen look messed up.
LG
+better color display
+small light leakeage towards the bottom, not really noticable
-small sparkle effect
-grainy , dirty white.. can make it better by turning down brightness and contrast to 85%.
Samsung
-color display is alright , but LG wins
-more light leakage then LG
+ better whites on default
+ less sparkle the LG
overall is hard to pick, am still thinking on which screen to keep. you gain and you lose by picking either screen.
am leaning towards the LG cause of the colors, and i was getting used to the dirty whites especially after changing the brightness and contrast made it look better. i do lose brightness on the LG by decreasing the brightness.
The samsung screen black really looks faded out , while the LG makes the black look real black..
so right its a hard pick

dell really made it hard for us to see a clear cut winner, i know others agree with me and those who dont are plain lying
i will test out the samsung screen more with a dvd and movie and ect. would of been nice to recieve to laptops and compare side by side. would of been much easier to pick, having only the lcd makes you wanna switch back and forth just to see which is better. ahhhhhh

my head is about to explode.
