Ah, ok. Just thought it might be something, being as the closest Dell warehouse I thought was Nashville, which is just 2 hours from here (Chattanooga).

Does it look better = YES
Would I keep it before with the LG = NO
Will I keep it now with the Samsung= YES
In general I would say every thing from pictures to IE just look cleaner and sharper. I won't lie it still has some sparkle but atleast it dosn't blur everything out. For those having it installed make sure your read the manual on how to do it because I had to do a little training for Dell today.

Congrats, Rocket. Those look like Dell part numbers. Was there anything on the Samsung that looked like LTN170....?

Edit: oops, nevermind. I see the pics now!

Thanks for posting pics. I hope it helps.

Yeah, those pics confirm that Dell is shipping the exact same panels they did for the 9200, but with a glossy coating on top.

Interesting... that -L01 panel is not listed...

Another question: How is the viewing angles?
How to decode Samsung LCD part numbers:

... so, that panel seems to be the same as the old ones.

river rocket, did you get any pictures of the Samsung after it was installed?
Yah i'm curious how the brightness is and the viewing angles and light leak?

I'm replacing mine for the light leak more then anything.

Almost everybody hated the LG due to the sparkle, but it sounds like the glossy coating does improve things a bit.

The LG had better colors. The Samsung had better brightness and less sparkle, but was more likely to have light leakage.

I'm sure both panels would look much better if they got rid of the anti-glare coating before they applied the gloss.

Sorry no screen shots I am at work and have a limited amount of time. I didn't check the viewing angle and the brightness seems better but it’s probably since I can view it at 100% now instead of turning down it down to 85% in the NVIDIA properties screen. To me the colors look much better. I would equate switching from the LG to the Samsung like cleaning your windows in the spring. It was a refreshing change being able to see the screen again without the blur.
