Thanks for the info rocket!

I hope XPS2's get shipped with Samsung LCDs.

I hope they get shipped with totally different LCDs that look like god and don't sparkle at all...If I get a headache writing reports in Word, I'll be mighty pissed...

To me the colors look much better. I would equate switching from the LG to the Samsung like cleaning your windows in the spring. It was a refreshing change being able to see the screen again without the blur.

how are the whites.......are they still dirty, are they true white.......? please report this is very important

Whites on mine are about the same. It wasn't a deal breaker for me.
Alright, just swapped out mine. It took about 45 min and wasn't hard process. The W9892 kit that I got is indeed the Samsung. It is the same K9922 that Shinji U talking about with the 20ms response time. The white on mine looks much better that the previous LG. Here are the details of the old screen and new screen:

Old
LG Philips LCD - LP171W01
KR-0J9662-56252-520-1303

New
Samsung - LTN170WU-L01
KR-0K9922-39792-52L-00NJ

Just ran power strip and it says:

Model ID: SEC5557
Serial Number: 0 (14000000)
Date of manufacture: 2004, ISO week 0

Luology, the whites are now whiter and brighter than the LG.
how do we tell if we get the LCD thats in the W9892 kit when we get our 9300? Is it the same as the other samsung LCD?
If it shows the following in PowerStrip:

Model ID: SEC5557
Serial Number: 0 (14000000)
Date of manufacture: 2004, ISO week 0

Or if your invoice says K9922.
is it the same exact samsung LCD that other people got that came with the 9300? or a different samsung?

Lu, I did see my brightness and contrast back to 100% because I had it at 95% before. I have not had time to mess with those settings yet. I will report as soon as I do. However, I can tell you that I am satisfied with it right now.

Well....
I installed the - SEC5557
Needless to say..although there is no sparkle...
I'm unhappy with the screen. It has a Wash-Out look and
it has more light leakage than the LG. I'm at a cross road guys...
What should I do?

So your options at this point are return the whole laptop, keep the LG screen or keep the Samsung screen. As I recall, you liked the LG screen in the first place. So I'd just replace that one, send the Samsung back and enjoy your awesome notebook ever after.
