WMP lag with 8104

when i get a streaming video or something over the internet. my freaking computer LAGS ALOT until it finishes streaming. then its fine and it plays perfectly. anyone else? its happened on 5 diffrent windows install and on 2 diffrent hard drives. its driving me nuts.(when it says opening media =LAG LAG LAG)

does yours lag when it says opening media?

hey-

i had the same problem before when I was living in my dorm at college. They told me that the problem was the bandwidth. They told me that since I was living in a dorm that my school had shut off a lot of ports and that my computer would, in essence, do whatever it could to try to find a port that would be more efficent. I don't know if this would help you or not, but when I went home to my own private ISP it worked normally
