XPS 2 9-Cell Battery compatible with 9300 ?

I noticed that the 9 Cell battery for the 9300 costs 179.00; where as the XPS 2 battery costs 129.95.

Everything matches: weight, voltage, size

I can't see why they wouldn't be identical.

I believe they share the same chassis and the motherboard is almost the same, so I would expect they'd be the same battery.

Interesting difference in price....I would try the XPS 2 battery first, and send it back if it doesn't work. Are they actually different part numbers?

Looks like both different manufacture and Dell part numbers... although Dell number is only off by 1 (49-50)... Same size dimensions? Strange they are $50 difference.

They're both 80Whr batteries, so I would go with the XPS2 battery since it's cheaper.

I dunno about Dell but I know Toshiba at least once had 3 part numbers for exactly the same Libretto battery (down to circuit board versions within the battery) ...

Hmmm.. I was going to get the 9 cell but the $179 is more expensive than if I had ordered when I ordered my system (was $129 I believe). At $129 I might just pick it up...

The 9300 6 cell battery even costs more at 139.00. I guess they are giving a discount on the XPS 2 battery for some reason...
