Ordering a sager for canadians?

I am a canadian who would like to buy a laptop. After alot of searching a sager looks like the best choice. My only concern is that if i bought from pctorque (which is my first choice) is that there will be insane taxes imposed on it and it won't be worth the good value anymore.

Does anyone know what it will cost me... any canadians here? GST, PST, Duties, Customs handling, excise taxes? Is it possible to avoid this stuff?

Are any places in canada that sell them?

*sigh* i love Canada's high taxes. BTW, this is my FP on this forum

Welcome. Where in Canada are you? If you are close to the border and you know someone, you could have it shipped to them and pick it up.

Toronto isn't too far... I've driven there for Niagara Falls :-) I'm very sorry to hear of your situation, though, and I can definitely understand why you'd like to purchase from PCTorque :-) Welcome to the forums! I think there are some Canadian resellers... I know for a fact one reseller uses Canadian dollars, lol, but I don't know if that necessarily puts them in Canada. Here's a link...

http://www.eurocom.com/

They are in Canada... Ontario to be more specific, but they're more expensive. Best of luck though! I can't comment on their quality or their tech support or anything of the sort, because I haven't heard anything about it. We do know they advertise things that aren't out yet simply to hype it and attract customers. They aren't Sager resellers I don't think, they're clevo resellers (so they're like Sager). Because of this, I can't comment on the quality of their product either, because I only have experience with Sager (and prostar, which is pretty much the same; their address is the same if I'm not mistaken :-)).

In France the 8886 (PCW Version) is at 3876,6 € and that not the biger price.
For instance i'm waiting for the 16" screen and think about waranty because it's a long way US/Fr. I'm looking in UK, there's 2 Clevo resellers less expensive than France.

Hello and welcome to Nafta nations :there is no fees for canadian customs , according to my
trusted custom broker at fedex.

Only ! the 7% of Gst (general sales tax ) is applied .

Voodoo from Alberta is selling Clevo at twice the price ,ok with a paint job but who has money to throw away ? all currency translated.

Please Pctorque : open a franchise in Montreal,

i am willing to teach you french...

All said and done, after 14.5% sales tax (B.C.),customs fee's and shipping costs,a Sager from PCTorque or Powernotebooks.com is going to be about $1500 Canadian cheaper than buying a "similar" clevo based model from Canada. As far as Dell,Sony or IBM Etc.are concerned, just try and build one with similar specs to 5660 or 8886 for less than $6000!!!
Any business minded types wanna start a Sager reselling service in Canada with me?lol.
