There is a very positive review of the XPS Gen2 here:

That isnt' a review, more like a preview. And it isn't all that informative. There are much better available at the hands of google.

PS, where is this XPS gen 1 with a 6800 that the preview mentions?

Yes, that is just a bit of news. Even the pics they posted are Dell Stock Photos (you can tell by looking at the things that have since changed in the shipping version of XPS2, but are seen in these pics).

"Incidentally, if the “Gen 2” part of the name is confusing you that’s because the Yanks had an XPS Gen one featuring a standard 6800 that we never saw this side of the pond."

LOL, I don't think I'd trust a review from these guys. They've got their data all mixed up.

No kidding. These guys are completely clueless.

At least this review has a video of it... gives you a good idea on how big it really is.

From the trusted reviews link:

"The battery is a hefty nine-cell 80 WHr Lithim Ion module which is expected to last up to 2 hours during full-on gaming, a sizeable improvement on other games orientated laptops we have seen in the past."

Oops, that can't be right. I haven't heard of any laptop that can last 2 hours playing 3d games. I believe that 2 hours is the amount of time in battery mode...NOT full-on gaming.

I never noticed that video before. That's pretty cool.

It should be noted that this trusted review is neither a review, nor trustworthy. It is from looks probably a paid advertisement.

From my experience, any source that explicitly suggests that it is 'trustworthy' generally isnt.

What things have changed? And how would we know yet, seeing as no one has recieved theirs yet?

When you look at Dell Stock Photos of their products (which every news site uses - especially at launch), they are usually of models that have not yet been released to manufacturing and may show subtle differences to the finished shipping product.

On the 9200/9300/XPS2 in the Dell Photos you can see that the 'grills' on either side of the keyboard extend to the top portion of the bezel above the keyboard - this is not the case in the actual shipping versions.

There are also no 'scrolling' lines on the touchpad in these photos (which I hate since they serve zero purpose and ruin the clean lines of the machine), but they appear on all the shipping models.

The most noticeable difference is on the XPS2 where the bottom hinges of the LCD are silver to match the bezel above the keyboard, but on the shipping version, those hinges are now black to match the LCD (which of course now looks much better).

There are a few pictures of the 'shipping' XPS2 posted here in various threads to see the differences. They are minor, but the reason I bring them up is so people know which photos are just stock Dell photos, and which were taken by the reviewer, etc.
