So, in a way, neither of these is actually a dual-core CPU, like POWER5, Montecito or dual-core Opteron would be: Smithfield is a dual CPU chip, where two totally separate processors happen to share a single chip, and Presler is a dual-chip DCM (dual-chip module).
So it seems that both the Smithfield and the Presler have questionable status as Dual Core technology.

I thought we stopped trusting the inquirer after the entire ionized-metal strip that increases battery life?

meh...the problem is they're right (and extremely early) some of the time...but they do have a significant amount of garbage...oh well...where's snorre when you need him?

They are, I would say, right about 80% of the time, but this article looks right because of all of the details of description are based on already widely know facts, such as the Smithfield relying on an arbitration unit to mediate the access to FSB, between the two CPUs

The fact that Intel's initial dual-core attempts are half-assed is a widely known fact. It's just so they can have something out at the same time as AMD's proper solution.
