When I did a fresh install I was very careful to follow the manual's instructions regarding the order the drivers need to be installed.
Now, I have since updated my video card drivers and my audio drivers. I did these at different times and I didn't think about the manuals driver install order. Now in the back of my mind I'm thinking that maybe that could cause some problems. I have a 5670 with WinXP and the recommended order is:
Chipset
Audio
Modem
LAN
Video
The video driver is the last thing in the install order list, so maybe updating them isn't a problem. But that audio driver is 2nd in the list with Modem, Lan and Video drivers following it.
So my question is, if you were going to upgrade your audio drivers, should you remove your video, LAN, Modem and Audio drivers, then install the new audio driver and then the Modem, LAN and Video driver? Or does it not matter?
I have been contemplating a full reinstall anyway to try HT again, but for future reference, I am curious what is the correct thing to do in that situation.
