try these:

RMClock

RMClock Forum

pay particular attention to Dmitri Besedin - he wrote/writes RMClock and answers most of the questions himself...

i was only told that because i was having random shutdowns... i have a huge amt of sotware and i was running so many apps... to give you an idea, i have over 70 quick launch icons...
but if you're running RMClock or any other utility that messes with the bios, etc., it might be a good idea to not install it... try it out and see if you have fewer probs... good luck...

This is my first post, and I just want to say thanks for this lesson on undervolting. I successfully undervolted my 600m 1.5Ghz Dothan at 6x .700v & 15x .988v. Under 100% load 6x was 46ºC now at 43ºC and 15x was 65ºC now at 50ºC. Incredible differences. Thanks once again for this.

Just for the records:

HP DV4000 PM 2.13GHz

6x -> 0.700V
16x -> 1.164V

Thanks for the guide!

Are these normal core temps for a core solo?
No games, just web browsing etc

I don't think so!

Yeah, I don't think that's normal either. My temp at 800mhz while web surfing hovers between 48-52* C. Looking at your volts, you should try lowering to 0.700 at 6X. That what mine's running at and it should bring your temp down also.

I have a Core Solo and the lowest I can bring it is 0.950. Is there an option to bring it even lower?
post #1171 of 1202
i have x6 0.748v and x16 1.196v for a pentium m770 running at 33ºC at idle and 54ºC at load. I am using nhc

I am now runnig prime 95 i can´t remember chosing gimps or just stressing does it matter?

Must i run again prime 95 with only x6 0.748v to test it? now i am runnig it at large ffts and says 2,13 54º

No way, it is locked for Yonah processors by Intel.

SONY VAIO VGN-S580P Hard Drive

Wondering if anyone knows what can be done or any guides on how do reduce HDD heat. CUP is running at stable 48 C from 64 after tweaking volt using NHC 2.0. CPU is fine but the HDD is HOTT!!! the same for at some times hotter than the CPU? What’s the prob? its a 60G 5400 rpm. I cant remember what the temp was before I tweek but this is weird. This is idle temp. AND Prime 95 temp? What’s the deal? Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks again for Any and All Help

S580 at idle running at 800mhz dynamic switching:

The only way I know for notebooks is to replace the HDD to a cooler and more silent one.
Among ATA with 5400rpm Western Digital and Samsung seem to be the coolest.
By replacing Fujitsu with WD I observed a big improvement.

Also see if you can just open up your laptop a bit and get some air circulating in there. For example, in my 9300, the PCMCIA slot is right above the HDD. I took out the spacer card and the entire PCMCIA slot and it really helps in keeping my temps down .

iono if this has been asked but is it possible to undervolt a intel core duo?
post #1178 of 1202
No. Their CPUs are very good, but they don't want to lose the "low voltage" market, which is already proved to be intel BS... all money, no technical reasons at all.

At least on that, my Dothan kicks *ss!

actually you can undervolt the core duos, but you can't get it any lower than 0.95v...

I undervolted my core duo to 0.95/0.975v, it used to be 0.95/1.2x

hi there everyone, i have a kind of big problem with my Sager NP 4760. was hoping for some help. the thing is i have the stuck fan issue where the processor fan won't spin unless i max it out which creates a really loud noise. i tried undervolting using the software suggested at this thread, RMclock version 2.15. i'm on a P4 2.8 Northwood. problem is the FID multiplier is stuck at 21, and the option use power state transitions is grayed out. so i can't do anything. tried using NHC but the same thing, i can't seem to do anything with the voltage. could anyone help me please? my laptop idles at 75 degrees celcius. thanks
