Hey guys I just wanted to share my enthusiasum. I ordered a decked out XPS2 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you guys think?

I ordered mine on Monday morning...then Tuesday morning at 5:00am I found an online coupon for 750.00 off select Inspirons. I tested it and it was accepted on iXPS2's...

So I cancelled my original order and reordered an iXPS2 with the coupon. With the current 15% off, I ended up saving 300.00 off the price from the original order...wooooot!!!!

Additional info....the coupon I used expired at 0600 this morning...about an hour after I used it...whew!!!

Your ship date is 4/6/05 and you ordered it tonite?? My ship date is 4/20/05. Congrats on your purchase

i ordered an xps2 too w/ the $750 coupon too.. But i decided to cancelled it.. Couldnt bare to see it stuck in production for so long..Didnt even move for 4 days so i canned it. Well in other hand waiting to see if a better deal come along, hopefully it will.

Heh... I see people all over already in late production phases with mid-march order dates, and my feb order is still sitting there. Here's some dell pseudo-code for their manufacturing and scheduling:

if (customer == cheapskate(customerID) || bigdiscounttaken(OrderID)) {
inProduction = 0
else
inproduction = 1
}

That doesn't seem too far off...but I think they use a random number generator to determine who's order gets built next. That's after a substantial wait.

Save the celebration for the day an XPS 2 arrives at your door.
