I actually find Dell QS to be quite useful. But I guess it's just a preference thing

IMHO the only thing you have to install in any particular order is the Intel Chipset Utility. That should be installed first. If you feel as though you need to install the Dell NSS, rumor has it that should be installed first, then the Intel Chipset. As for the rest, I am just anal and prefer to install them in a certain sequence.



I personally just use the On-Screen display program (DellTouch) that came with my desktop keyboard (works same way on the notebook). It's a very clean on-screen display of Volume Controls and Mute, etc. You can change the font type and color too. I don't need it for brightness as my eyes will tell me when it's too bright or too dim. I personally do not like the Dell QS on-screen status windows - I find them to be a bit cheesy and amateurish. Dell needs to clean them up and use cool ones like Apple and Sony.

Went through the guide you got these tips from, will let you know if I see a noticable diffrence with some of the regedits I did on my i6000d.

Man that is a legend set of icons and theme. The weather and calender tool is great too. Where did you get them all
