Should I buy tonight?

So I've decided to buy an i9300, my first new computer since early in the second Clinton administration. God I wish I was making that up. Given that there's a 35% off coupon floating around that's good until friday, should I order the laptop tonight to get the free 2-day shipping, or wait until tomorrow to see if they have a better deal out? All opinions welcomed.

Tonight seems good to me. Those 35% off coupons run out after they've been used so many times. And I don't think it gets much better than 35% off. Of course, the 9400 IS just around the corner.

I have been following the price of i9300 (and XPS2). The 35% coupon is a very great deal , so I ordered i9300 last night to replace my old smallish vaio . I don't think you can find any better deal for a while.

Just do it tonight and get the clock started. If a better deal pops up tomorrow or Friday, just reorder and cancel the order you place tonight. I'm on my fourth order for the 9300. This forum has cost me some serious green BTW since I second guess every decision I have made on my system. I'm done changing though. Unless some out of this world deal comes along, which I doubt something better than 35% will occur anytime soon, I'm done changing my mind.

I do not think you will find a much better deal then the current 35% off.

Thanks to all. About an hour after posting ecr's advice occured to me. Let's just say I felt a little stupid. I can't believe the government pays me to think, and I couldn't even come up with ordering it and cancelling if something better comes along.

So I was 10 minutes late...

I pay you to think. Now I'm worried.

You should be. I'm not the world's greatest investment.

The 9300 at 35% is going to be a deal that is hard to beat for the next several months. You will not regret your purchase.

Frankly I'm just excited that I'm finally going to have a computer that I didn't buy amidst the Y2K "crisis". And I can't wait to sit in the department lounge playing WoW. Ah, the life of a slacker.

Hello everyone.

I'm looking at ordering the i9300 with the 35% coupon tomorrow. The 35% expires "on Friday". Midnight tomorrow, or Friday? (Is it good ON Friday?)

It expires at 5:59 AM CST on 2/25. So pretty damn early on Friday so do it tomorrow.

It also expires after 4000 people use the coupon code. I have no idea if they ever reach their maximum uses. I ordered last night. 3999 left.

Thanks for the details!

Argh! Tax? Is this because I have a "Dell Store" in my state or some crap like that? $131! I live in the freaking Bahamas, but my billing address is in Washington state. Crrrrrap.

Well, crap.

I live in the bahamas so I have to have money transfered from my account here to my Visa/Debit account in the States. I don't think I can get it done in time to get the 35% off.

So. Maybe I'll just say "to hell with it" and get the XPS2.

Haha As I understand it if they have a Dell Store or any type of retail outlet where they have to setup an actual business in the state... you are screwed. I did the same thing when I first configured mine. I figured Dell wasn't in California so my config price was the final price... nope, fork over another buck and a quarter please.

It's still a sweet deal regardless.

Heh, caribbean med school? If so I was thinking of applying to Grenada.

doesn't Dell still have the 30 day price protection thing? when I got my 8200 several years ago I keep checking on the price after I got it and ended up getting about $140 refund due to the price going down...they check to make sure it's exact same config and componants so it may not be favorable everytime ....

Nah; I've never been that ambitious. I bailed out of my computer-industry job, sold all my belongings, went motorcycle camping for "an indefinite period of time", and ended up here two years ago. I'm a dive instructor now and make "starving student" wages. We're (1 year wedding anniversary today!) moving to Hawaii to manage a dive shop at the end of April and I'm using the move as an excuse to sell my desktop system and get a laptop.

Maybe this is a dumb question: But is there really a 9400 series coming out around the corner, or is this just made up? I've seen a couple posts already mentioning "9400"...
