I would have to say no to those games, I don't think the 64 nvidia is gonna run those too well for you

From what I've read the 64 mb GeForce go 440 can play HL2 very well. Obviously this is in Directx 7 mode since that is the maximum the card can support.

Doom3 from what I've read doesn't run to well.

Why would you want to play Doom3 when you can play Half Life 2.

Is the R3000Z too big and too heavy? I got one customized and im suppose to get it tomorrow. My mom has a V2000, thats what im using now and i love how small and light it is and i love the battery life. I can go places with it, instead of sitting at my desk or on my bed. B4 there was something’s about the V2000 that i didn't like, like the graphics. The graphics are good enough for me, if it plays nintendo 64 games without any trouble, thats far good enough for me. I got the R3000Z because it has better graphics, a bigger screen and a better processor, i didn't take the size or weight into much consideration. I guess if i don't like it i could return it and get a new customized V2000, but then i will have to wait 2 weeks again. In case this happens, i have some questions about the V2000, i need it to multitask, would it be possible with 1G ram or would 2G be better? How good is 2G ram? What would that do?

I just want to know how much battery life does it have.

Its suppose to have like 3.5 hours or something. But i probably will return it because it will probably be too big and heavy, if its anything like my 2500 series. Then i won't even wanna look at it

There in compusa i saw it and to me it did not look to big. I want to buy it because of the screen its very nice and glossy. The only thing i really dont like is the video card.

Yes it never looks too big at the store but then when u bring it home and have it on your lap for 3+ hours, its a different story. Im most likely going to return it for a V2000, im not too happy about this. Then i will have to wait another 2 weeks. But i can't promise anything until i get it tomorrow. I cant wait. There could be things about it that i will like a lot. I’m thinking if the performance is superior towards the V2000, then i might just keep it. But size really does matter. The thing I’m also concerned about, along with the size and weight is the noise and heat. Big laptops tend to be noisy and get hot. After having a 2500, u will never wanna get something like that again, and i think i just did

Its Great! I love it. The weight and size doesn't seem to bother me that much. The screen is awesome, looks really good. A lot better then the V2000's screen. The speakers are the best laptop speakers I’ve ever heard. It doesn't crack very much when the volume is turned up, im not noticing that very much. I think it has bass, defiantly. Its sounds a lot better then the V2000's speakers. This is the fastest computer I’ve ever used. It starts up easy and fast. You can run multiple programs at once without losing any performance. The noise it makes isn't annoying. Its more peaceful compared to my 2500. The fan isnt that loud and its easy to listen to. The HD isn't annoying either. I think this is the best desktop replacement out there at this moment. I didn't get to play any games yet or test the battery, but as long as it can go more then 2 hours i think that’s fine. I got the 12 cell battery i think thats suppose to last 3.4 hours or something. If you want a desktop replacemnt, buy this one. But if you don't need the perormance go with the V2000. But like i said, the weight and size doesn't bother me. It did bother me with my 2500. I guess because its not as thick and its a little longer.

No, It does not get hot. Infact I would say that it is one of the cooler running DTR laptops in the market. During general usage the CPU temperature's hover around 35C-45C and when there is 100% cpu usage the temperatures hover around 57C-61C. There are 2 fans in the laptop one of them always runs(fairly quietly) and the second fan kicks in around 55C.
