8500V Replacement Screen

As you can probably tell by the title, the unmentionable has happened to my Sager.

The laptop works fine, but the screen is cracked. I have searched the world over, and can't find any information for replacement.

I have removed the screen from the case, and there really isn't any indication on the back of it that would tell me what it is.

Inside the case, it lists 5 different screen sizes, and what appears to be their part numbers, but I don't believe them to be correct.

I have rounded it down to a Hosiden 15.1" TFT HLD1505, but when I contacted Clevo, they said they didn't use this screen on my model.

Can anyone give me a clue here.

What model did they tell you it would probably be and how much for a replacement? You're worried they're wrong and will send you one that won't work?

That's just it, they keep beating around the bush. The don't tell me what models of screens they used in the 8500V.

I took the screen out of the laptop, and the screen itself doesn't say what brand it is. It really doesn't say anything on it. Inside the lid of the laptop is a list of what appears to be screens that may have been used with this model of laptop. It says:

Hosiden 15.1" 39-85201-02X-----TFT-5A
Kyocera 13.8" 39-85001-02X-----DSTN-5B
LG 14.1" 39-85201-12X-----TFT-5B
Hosiden 13.3" 39-85201-22X-----TFT-5B
LG 13.3" 39-85201-32X-----TFT-5B
Samsung 13.3" 39-85201-42X-----TFT-5B

Then, in all four of the corners of the inside of the lid, is:

HOS 15.1"
TFT

This kinda tells me that they used a Hosiden 15.1" TFT screen, seeing as how the screen measures 15.1" diagonal. However, when I contacted Clevo, they said they never used a Hosiden screen in this model of laptop. I have since then, sent them the serial number of the laptop itself, but I have yet to hear anything from them.

I have searched on the internet for a replacement for a Hosiden 15.1" TFT screen, but the only thing I find, is articles about them, and replacements for smaller screens.

I am sure this must be a Hosiden screen that I have, I really just need to find out where I can get a replacement.

I have also searched in Google groups, and found others with Sager laptops (I am not sure what model they had) that are looking for Hosiden 15.1" TFT replacement screens. This tells me that Clevo must have used this screen at some point in time.

I think, that if I ever find one, I may just buy a few, advertise and make a few bucks, since they seem to be impossible to find.

Anyway, if anyone knows where to find these screens, any help would be appreciated.

I think a lot of the confusion comes from them changing LCD models at will. This appears to be something they did often in the past and left everyone not exactly sure what LCD model was being used. They still do it with the IBM and Toshiba Hard drives and although they're both great drives, I wish they would use just one.

Have you tried to give Sager the serial number and your order number if you still have it to reference and see what they can do? Other than that, there's a couple places that specialize in LCD replacement for virtually any laptop (they say).
