New to Alienware Family!

Hi All,

So after my bf got me addicted to EQ2; there is no going back. For months I have been looking at different lappies to get so I can play at his place (so we won't be fighting over his computer). Two weeks ago, AW had this $600 off deal and needless to say, I can't seem to find a reason not to buy one for myself. So here are the specs...not as uber as some other peeps, but as long as it can handle EQ2 without lags...imma happi.

Case: Area-51m 7700 Case with 17" WideXGA+ 1400 x 900 LCD Display - Xeno Grey
Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 540J w/ HT Technology 3.2GHz 1MB Cache
Motherboard: Intel® 915P Chipset Supporting PCI-Express
Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 533MHz - 2 x 512MB
Video Card: Area-51m 7700 NVIDIA GeForce™ 6800 Go with 256MB of DDR3 memory
Sound Card: Intel® High-Definition Audio (24-bit, 192Khz) with 7.1 surround sound
Hard Drive: Single Drive Configuration - 60GB 7200 RPM ATA100 - Hitachi
Optical Drive One: 24x10x24 CD-RW / 8X DVD Combo w/Software MPEG2 Decoder
Floppy Drive: USB Floppy Drive
Ethernet NIC: Integrated 10/1000Mb Gigabit Ethernet NIC
Wireless Network: Internal Wireless 802.11a/b/g miniPCI Card
Modem: 56K Modem with V.92 Technology

Don't think I did so horribly on the phase game, but cross my fingers that everything will turn out okay when i receive the unit.

Thanks everyone for the warm wecolme! I will be on this board quite frequent after i get my lappy.

BTW, I got tracking number last nite!! Fedex says that my lappy has left the facility and will arrive Cali on Tuesday (3/29)

Can someone recommend me a good cooling pad to go w/ this lappy.....overheating may be an issue if I am on Evercrack for hours

Im using a standard pad that plugs into the USB port, and also acts a USB hub with four additional ports. (that requires extra power though) this thing just uses to fans. Okay, it's a Vantec Lapcool2. Works for me even though I havent recieved my 7700 yet. And I have no numbers to prove to you that it does "work." hopes this can get you started

Really nice rig, the waiting game is so awful. It'll be worth it once you get it though. I would love one of those 7700's to lug to work for late night gaming.
