Didn't your machine ship with a resource CD? All the drivers are on there.

If anyone knows the name of the file you could try this... ftp://ftp.dell.com/audio/

Maybe there's new versions of the drivers available and thus they are in the midst of removing the old ones to accomodate the new drivers?

no it came with power dvd, record now, and windows xp

Try the 9200 audio drivers. It won't install if not compatible anyway so no damage should incur.

neverming my laptop freezes while installing

If it won't work try audio drivers of other laptops primarily xps2 and the 6000d. The windows update is your last resort. It should actually be inyour 9300 download page. Dell might just be updating their system.

Hey Picard...

You wouldn't happen to be The Real Picard of RGP fame, would you?

If so, it sure is a small world.

The i9200 ones lock me up tighter than Dick's hatband. The ones Jim-H posted seem to do the trick. Thanks.

SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM:

I had the exact same problem. Someone uploaded the drivers to their ftp server after i requested them. Search these forums for "dell drivers" and you should be able to find the post called something like "Dell drivers are missing?" Someone posted the URLs for the Intel chipset and the audiodrivers there.

Yeah, I found some in another thread. It is a Dell FTP server.
