HELP-Blue Screen after installing Kingston RAM on my 700m?

Hey everyone, i've been checking out this board for a while, and was just wondering if i could get some help. I have a dell 700m, and i just installed a stick of Kingston 1gb ram pc2700.

After installing it, i noticed that, about once a day or so, this blue screen pops up which states something to the effect of a "physical memory dump", or something similiar.

Can someone please help me figure out what is going on, or how to solve this problem? Any help would be appreciated!

Please keep us updated, I just got 2 sticks from outpost for my emachines m6811 and both were faulty. I am now going thru kingston support instead. They said there was no complaints, but they have a newer revision they are going to send me.

compman55, i just emailed kingston support about the problem, and they told me that it might be because the "Value ram" is made for "generic systems" and not necessarily for consumer systems like DELL, gateway, IBM, etc...

The tech support told me to try to put the kingston 1gb stick in the main slot and switch the factory stick (256mb) to the user accessible slot. I will try that in the afternoon, but do you think it will make a difference?

As for getting a replacement, is it easy to do so with Kingston? or will they give you the run around?

I have never in my life had better tech support as with kingston. They are very fast and very knowledgable. They have a trial offer now, that they pay return shipping as long as you are willing to make a drive to your local fedex station.

OK, the story goes like this, I got 2 bad sticks from outpost. The one kingston gave me was perfect. Seems they have some bad sticks floating around.

really..wow..i called outpost, but they wouldn't give me an exchange because i took off the UPC for the rebate...but kingston is sending me another one hopefully this week..i set up for "advance replacement"..do you have an experience with this and how long they take to ship one out to you? It's a 40 minute drive from where I live, so fedex should take about a day...
