SCHWING!
lol
This bad boys about to die... I need that xps2 asap!
The fan running sounds like a machine gun
haha
but it does what I need. The web pages would lag as I scrolled so I had to drop everything into 16 bit

Mine is out for delivery today too. UPS should be here in a couple of hours, hopefully before I leave for work. As long as it gets here well before I leave I'll check it out and see how powerful this machine is. But knowing UPS it'll get here right when I'm pulling out of the driveway.

I did call Dell and bitch nicely about being one of the first to order and last to ship, they agreed and gave me a free $300.00 Axium X50, it did kind of wash some of the salt out of my wounds. LeeU

wow progneta i just noticed ur sig. it will be a big step moving up from that comp. im assuming u didnt have any comp's in between or get/return any. when i bought the 8600, i had a compaq notebook p2-383, dvd rom, 12 inch screen, 64 mg ram, 4 gig drive, ati rage 8 meg. bought it in 99 for $1900 hehe. it was near top of the line then. i was blown away by the 8600.

lol
I probably will keep this one. I cant afford paying like 800.00 every year to upgrade. ( after I sell my old laptop off)... that 800.00 is all I make and really leaves me with no spare cash...
But this laptop should rock. And the vid card is schwing and if they upgrade in 6months or a year... Im good for gamming for years

Dragon, Did you get your XPS2 yet?

you should just skip work tonight so we can get your review
post #118 of 148
I'm on a k6-2 400mhz (overclocked to 450mhz) fitted for a pentium 1 socket. 196mb of RAM, 8GB hard drive, Voodoo 3 3500 TV (sexy). This is just while I'm home during vacation.

Speaking of vacation, mine ends Saturday. I was in boxing a few days ago, and I thought I had a good chance of getting shipped out in time to take my notebook back with me. If it doesn't deliver on Saturday (Fedex Next Day doesn't deliver on Sundays, right?) then I *may* be able to get it the next Saturday with only a 2 hour drive (one-way). As you can see, if it doesn't make it to me in time, I really won't care too much when it comes. I figure next week.
