xps2 LCD - anyone figure out what it is? - Page 3

I love how all the 9300 guys are jealous of the XPS2 owners.

Don't worry guys, once you graduate high school you might be able to afford one without your parents' help!

wtf?@!?? Why should there be any jealousy? I choose the 9300 over the XPS2 because the 9300 has a more mature look, and yes I have been away from high school for a long time. It wasn't because of price because you can tell from my signiture that I have purchased both a 9300 and a 700m with my own money! I understand that being old and having a XPS2 might give you a slim hope of feeling young again.....geez....we got another senoir citizen here!

Seems kinda uncalled for, as matter fact I have gotten a 9300 (for me) and a surprise XPS2 (for my daughter) for all here damm hard work in school she has showed me and for the love I have for my daughter!
NOT because she is spoiled or can't work hard in a summer job to earn the money for one.

If I wanted an XPS2 I would have ordered one. To assume that anyone who went with the i9300 only did so because they couldn't afford the XPS2 is a bit immature and ironically that statement sounds like it's coming from a 'high-schooler'.

Furthermore, both models cost about the same when decked out so I am not sure why one is held in a higher regard than the other - especially to those of us who don't game.

I am a tech junkie and I've got the cash, but I simply chose not to get one. Why? I am more interested in long battery life than Doom3 frame-rates, and I personally find the design of the XPS2 a bit garish. Therefore, I opted for the more minimalist design of the i9300.

However, if I ever do warm up to the XPS2, I'll get a couple of those too.

Yep, I can only dream of such a day. I may just drop out of high school, though, because at my current job, they say I've got potential. I wonder how much an assistant night manager pulls in, anyway?

Yeah that's what's been happening with the 9300s so far. We'll see if the trend continues with the XPS2.

Spoke with my Rep this morning... he says HIS contact summed it up this way:

80% Samsung 20% LG/IBM

Now, that was NOT supposed to be an exact number but more of an illustration that most XPS G2's have the Samsung. He was familiar with past screen issues.

Take that for what its worth - maybe nothing. I have no idea what the IBM refrence was for. It was worded like LG and IBM are linked somehow, but I didnt think to ask at the time.

Looks like 1 person got the LG screen LPL0000 with sparkles

now that sucks. I'm really thinking of just cancelling the whole thing if I don't start seeing some positive remarks on that screen. I'm still about a week away, so I'll have time to evaluate the reviews before mine ships

I'm in the same boat. Mine's stuck on build stage... so I hope we see some damn samsung screens.

Dont take someones word for the screen untill you see it yourself. I would keep the order, if you dont like it get a replacement or send it back. Thats what I would do, I am not going to let these bad reviews on LG screens make me worry about the screen. I am sure dell has tested the sreens and it may be that some people got a few bad apples but you may end up liking the sreen or may end up getting a "good one".
