Good Backpack for the XPS Gen 2? - Page 2

k guys... i called up dell in an attempt to find out why the XPS backpack is no longer available on DELLS site. AS many of us have seen it there, but its gone..

To my supprise i got some one EXTREMELY helpful. Her English was outstanding, and i think she was flirting with me... atleast she laughed a lot... .

well, according to her, that backpack was offered as a premotional deal ,and is no longer carried by DELL. She also doesnt know if DELL will ever re-release the backpack...so she was trying to sell me a backpack model # a0334433

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...=&refurbished=

but at $90, i think ill pass... i could get the alienware backpack for that much....

just thought i 'de pass the news...

on another note, my lappy went into boxing today!!!! and i got next day air!!! buahahah.. 1st thing on the to-do list is a full format! bye bye crap software ill never use

If anyone gets the samsonite, please let us know how it is! I really liked it - but found a discontinued navy/grey/black waterfall high sierra bag on ebaggs.com for only $30 that really looks like a great bag - and normal... If I don't like it, samsonite it is....

I ordered the xps2 backpack... it is the best backback I have ever seen.....
I love it!

I ordered one of these since it looks like a good size and looks nice: http://www.dunhamssports.com/product...ductId=1739336 I also like the fact that it's not a dead give away pack like a targus. At college the last thing I want is something that says laptop inside, please steal. @_@ At least that looks more like hiking/camping material.

I ordered the Samsonite Sport Backpack today. I failed to notice when researching that the place that had it the cheapest (newegg.com-45 bucks) did not have it in stock. I got it from buy.com for 54 dollars once tax was figured in (I chose the "bargain shipping" which is free, regular shipping was another 8 bucks or so). I'll report how it is when I get it (and receive my laptop!)

Looks like it would fit to me. It's samsonite and so I imagine stores in your area probably carry it. Bring your laptop, let the Computer Techs drool, and see if it fits.

Hey, I actually like this pack too. I really don't understand why people make them with velcro (this one has a zipper). Can you imagine being in class/meeting with someone talking and you trying to open your case. *RRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPP*???

EDIT: What about the L45 instead of the XL45, it looks like it could hold it as well.

I have the XPS 2 Backpack also and it honestly surprised me. It fits both my XPS as well as my work D600 with 2 USB mice, 2 Power Bricks, and my Work Binder.

It looks cool too.

LOL

i was looking at exactly the same ones...im guessing they will fit...ill probably buy the bag from a store which has a good refund policy, so if it doesnt fit then ill simply exchange

My brother has a samsonite for his sony vaio and i gotta say it is very well made and very sturdy

I got my 9300 today and the Samsonite Sport Backpack arrived as well. The laptop looks huge to me, although it seems very light for it's size, and it fits well in the backpack. Once in the backpack it doesn't look unwieldy at all. The backpack I am very happy with, it is not too big, but does have a ton of pockets for organizing stuff other than the laptop. The back and the shoulder straps are very well padded. The laptop compartment itself doesn't seem to have as much padding as I expected but I really have nothing to compare it to. The pack seems well made and sturdy and I am happy with it. I got it for 50 bucks or so from buy.com.

I ordered the XPS2 backpack AFTER i recieved my XPS2. As of last Friday (4/1/05) it was not on the website yet. You need to call a rep and order it over the phone. Sucky thing is, if you order it seperately, it is 20.00 more. I like it though. It fits the XPS 2nicely with tons of room for accessories, cd's, dvd's etc.

I don't see how you guys think an Targus backpack screams "I'm a laptop, steal me" granted some of the ones whith wheels and feet are pretty obvious, but ones like their soport backpacks don't look any different to me than any other sports backpack.

I'm looking at Axio for purchase right now.

What do you guys think of them?
