5680 Wide-Angle UXGA screen cleaning?

Something I just thought of... Maybe Adam can answer. Will the 5680 UXGA screen be anti-glare coated, and if so what cleaners are suitable to clean the screen when it gets dirty?

(I know someone who claims to have messed up a LCD big-time that had been treated with factory anti-glare by cleaning it with an alcohol screen wipe.)

Most all anti-glare-coated screens recommend either a dry, lint-free cloth (e.g., a lens cloth), or that same cloth and water (preferably distilled, to eliminate impurities such as metals and minerals).

However, I don't know whether the 5680 screen is anti-glare.

somebody must know. Isn't the same screen as the 5670? is that glare resistant? If you have a 5670 what do you use? I know I read a thread a while back that said people mostly used water and a lens cloth but I don't know what screen that was on. Coo, thanks.

...Which will eat right through any anti-glare coating that is factory applied, which is what we're trying to avoid

Baloney, I have used Windex & a high quality paper towel on the anti-glare screen of my 21" Sony Trinitron for years & it looks exactly like it did the day I bought it.

I have used the same thing to clean every laptop I have ever owned with no problem whatsoever also.

My new 5680 screen has some marks (bands, blobs, stripes) that seem to have been left by the protective shipping plastic. I think that they correspond to where the bubbles were, i.e. where the plastic did not contact the screen. I have tried lens cleaner, and I have tried water, but neither seems to have made a dent in the blemishes. Any ideas?
