How come none of the Latitudes ave firewire?

Neither does the 600M. To me that is a requirement but can seem to get it unless go with a heavier Inspiron? Does Dell ever plan to offer it on L's?

Maybe its not a commonly used business application or something. Firewire ports are used for digital videos and stuff mainly (and expensive portable HDD's, MP3 players etc but these are in a minority)

Not as popular so omitting is drives the cost down. If you want something similar to 600m which does have firewire look at 510m (in uk)
