So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
I myself was preparing for the LG screen and I tried to keep an open mind with all the opinions good and bad about it. To my surprise, Dell just did me the favor the first time. Although I cannot comment on the quality of the LG on the 9300's, I'm very happy with the quality of the Samsung. I think more or less, I would have been more teed off with light leakage. Guess my Dell prayers have been answered (to my surprise).
Yea, going to BB and looking at a Sony X-brite (insert holy music here) is not the same right? We can't help your anal about your screens Sonic. I mean in one of your posts you go on for a paragraph and a half describing color contrast and adjusting
You know, I was responding to people's requests for my opinion and specific questions about the qualities I wrote about.
Reality check please!! I spent an hour on the phone with Dell CS and Dell Technical people today, and not one of them could spell "Samsung", never mind send out a replacement kits containing a Samsung LCDs. I say: Good Luck to anyone trying to get his/her screen replaced. I think you'll need to budget a few hours on the phone, allow for a few hairs turning grey, and get ready to be seriously peed off.
Took me 5 minutes. Tell them screen is defective, want a new one. That's all. I wouldn't even go into Samsung at the moment. I believe all they are sending out as replacements are Samsung.
Hey, I just noticed that my machine shipped today. It's due to arrive on Monday. Should I call Dell to find out which LCD I got? Nah ... I like surprises.
I agree...and dont even look at your invoice for the screen # when you get it. Open up the computer and see if you like the screen, if it looks good, who the hell cares what kind it is.
Good idea. I'll take the pepsi challenge. I've got a Samsung on my 9200, and a beautiful artifact-free glossy LCD on my 700m, so I'll compare them side-by-side, declare a winner, and then reveal the 9300 LCD maker
Yer sig says u ordered the 9300. Did you ordered the XPS2 as well?
Of course. I am a Dellaholic, after all. I basically just pre-ordered the XPS2 to wait for the reviews to come in, looking for a reason to cancel. Poor battery life bugged me a little bit. The potential heat issue bugged me a bit more. And now the LCD issue has pushed me to the point that my finger is on the cancel button, but I want to see the 9300 first.
It's hard to understand why this monitor problem keeps occuring. I can see it happening once (maybe). But after all the complaints, why do it again? They must have got a million of these LG screens for dirt cheap. Maybe a run of LG monitors (at the factory) didn't go as well as they hoped, and LG sold them to Dell for a song. Why else would a company endure the hassel?
