Paypal fees - got a question for you

ok i have some money in my paypal acount right now. as in its already there from when i recieved from selling stuff. If i buy something off ebay and pay using that money and i dont withdrawl any money from CC or bank acount, does the reciever have to pay any fees. I know everytime i recieve money i pay 30 cents + 2.9% of what i recieved which is probably because they sent money from CC.

so does anyone know how these fees work?

A service fee is charged, not only when one is paid with a CC, but also if one is a Premium Member. Being a premium member makes it so that you get charged with any transaction, even if one is paid with a non-CC paypal. PayPal says that they allow you to change your account back to a normal one, from a premium, only once.

Yeah, Paypal fees are really annoying. At first they only charged for accepting credit card payments... now practically everything is charged.

The thing to remember is that outside of the normal transaction fees that Pay Pal charges for recieving outside money, they do not charge you for anything else, like paying a bill on line, transferring money from or to your accounts & when you pay for something thru Ebay, so the small amount that Pay Pal charges me for my winnings is ok for a great secure money handling service....

what i do is have 2 paypal accounts. 1 that accepts credit cards and gets the fee and then another that is not a premium account and I use that one for all other payments. I dont get a fee on the 2nd one.

Its hard to do if you're sell high-ticket items though..Most people may be a little reluctant to pay some stranger a grand plus out of their checking account plus thye limit how much money you can accept each month for auctions. Accepting credit cards will also attract bidders/buyers who spend more money they can afford as well. But, yeah a couple basic paypal accounts will do in most cases and help you avoid fees. Ebay owns paypal so all that 6% on every transaction (2.75% ebay and 3% paypal) are going straight to service fee collections and more profit.

well since ebay and paypal are essentially the same thing, they end up charging the seller about 6%. the buyer doesn't really pay for anything extra, the whole thing is on the seller, and it's not allowed for sellers to request extra money for the paypal fees, and paypal actually doesn't allow people to have 2 different accounts under the same name and address as far as i know.
but on the good side, paypal does offer you protection which is pretty important when you are a buyer.

So if I have a paypal donate button on my website that accepts paypal payments from bank accounts only, I will get charged a fee if I have the premium account??

How do I revert to regular account?

search the paypal help section. try 'downgrade account'

You're only allowed to downgrade your account once.
