Hi Folks,

I hope somebody can help me with my strenged problem.

I put together a desktop computer from parts I purchased from tigerdirect. Now, I have a problem. I don't know why, my computer just shuts itself down after a few minutes. I look at inside the CPU fan was kind of acting out. But I am not sure it is the cause. Anybody has ever experience this before? Thanks

not sure what acting out means, but if your fan is not running at a constant speed, you're probably overheating.

Check the fan connection to the mobo, if necessary try replacing the cpu fan.

What OS are you running? Do you have the ablitiy to check your CPU's temp before it shutsdown? What is your hardware ie MOBO CPU RAM so on?

had that same problem a while back on my compaq. They replaced the mobo fan, i didnt even know it had one, and the cpu fan,,,,it fixed the problem. Maybe that helps u maybe not.

The actual process to shut the motherboard off comes from the BIOS and it doesn't actually matter what OS you are running, if you don't get any kind of BSOD.
Load system in BIOS, run idle for X minutes until reboot usually occurs and check temperature. If it rises from 30s to high 60s within minutes your fan is crap, which means either it's broken or not properly connected.
Description could also be more detailed, as Darq said.

I wanted to install 2 case fans or another fan inside of case but I did not see anywhere to plug them for the power. Do you know how to find places I can plug fans to it?

Big system fans are usually powered by the standard 4 pin plug that power your harddrives/optical drives.
Did you check your temperatures in BIOS yet?
