Well, I only had about 3 hours to play with my new toy last night, and most of that was setup and installing software. However, let me say that so far my system is running flawlessly. The case is immaculate, there have been no shut downs, no overheating, no dead pixels, no BSODs...everything is just as AW promised! I know that others have had trouble with their systems, but it appears they came through on mine.
I played about 45 min. of Half-Life 2 (enough to get to Root Kanal), and I gotta say it looks amazing on full detail and no slow down
. Likewise, DVD playback looks sharp and clear, enough so that my roommate looked over and said "Wow, that looks pretty good!"
The only issues I'm having right now is that I'm still trying to figure out how to properly connect my surround sound headphones to it. The headphone instructions say to linsert the connectiosn to the Front, Center, and Rear jacks on the soundcard, but the 7700 doesn't have jacks labled that way. I figured out that I'm supposed to plug it into the headphone, microphone, etc. jacks, but I'm still not sure which goes where.
Also, I can only get sound out of two of the speakers when I don't plug in headphones.
Oh, and one other problem: The wide aspect screen plays havoc with some of the websites I visit, such as Homestarrunner. For some reason, the flash window stretches to wide aspect too, distorting the animation.
These minor quibbles aside, I couldn't be happier with my new 7700. Now if only I had more time to mess with it!
